ATHENS, Ga., – Last year Georgia was one of four teams with multiple 1,000-yard handles. But in the last two seasons, Georgia has been the only team to perform the feat twice.
In the last two seasons, Georgia has produced four different 1,000 yard yards. Nick Chub and Sony Michel did in 2017, while Elijah Holyfield and D'Andre Swift did so in 2018.
Swift returns for his junior season in 2019 with high expectations. But throughout the fall camp, its availability was uncertain. Swift was seen wearing a black non-contact training shirt on Wednesday. Swift had an off-season surgery on both of his slacks before the start of the 201
All this – coupled with the fact that Swift had single-digit carries in 5 of his 14 sophomore games – means that Georgia would again rely on a stable of steered hindquarters.

, James Cook and Kenny McIntosh. Harrien is expected to take on a much bigger role this season after Holyfield's departure for the NFL. As a junior, he ran for 295 yards on 50 carries.
As for White, he is the most talked about Georgia player this offseason, given his injury history and his No. 1 status in the 2018 rankings.
Georgia coach Kirby Smart was asked to balance everything between his running backs. And he gave a very detailed answer to the question.
"I want success and I want success for each of these players. If each of those backs is a success, would you be able to get no one getting 1000 and three or four guys approaching 1000, "Smart said. "Security sometimes dictates what we do offensively because we check certain things so you can't control it. It helps [when] have guys who look like bell cows, but I haven't played four backs. "
According to Smart, Georgia's crimes have always had a balanced rushing attack in terms of carry. The most carries a retreat in one of the last two seasons was 20, with Holyfield hitting that number against Florida in 2018 and Chubb him made against South Carolina in 2017.
The Georgia head coach also gave detailed answers to where things stand with Cook. The sophomore running back played frugally as a freshman, even though he was No. 41 overall in the 2018 player. He is also Minnesota's younger brother that the Vikings running back from Dalvin Cook.
James Cook looks noticeably different this fall as he put on some serious musculature. 19659002] "Much more consistent with his ability to interrupt races and make runs," Smart said. "First of all, he's a great player in space. Last year, he was just some kind. He didn't understand movements and shifts and all sorts of things. Now he is much more consistent and he has been able to show it. I feel like James had a really good camp. ”
Smart adds that the notion of having multiple 1,000-yard creeks helps with the effort. Swift and White were also 5-star running backs. In the Georgia class of 2020, the Bulldogs already have a commitment from 5-star running Kendall Milton and are one of the finalists for the nation's No. 1 overall pick in Zachary Evans.
When Milton engaged with Georgia, he stated that he was very open to the idea of sharing with another elite, backward. The Bulldogs are likely to use that strategy this season, given Swift's wealth of options and endurance issues.
