Owners will have access to a secure webcam feed so they can view the car whenever they want. If they want to drive the car, Lamborghini will arrange transportation to almost any racetrack in the world and the owner will be able to drive it there. Lamborghini will also provide a professional race car driver who will provide coaching on how to achieve maximum speed and enjoyment of your supercar with V12 drive. The company will host several special events throughout the year to allow Essenza SCV12 owners to come together and enjoy their cars as a group.
Only 40 of the cars will be produced. Customers have already signed contracts for most of them, but several remain available, said Lamborghini chief engineer Maurizio Reggiano.
“This car is like a special passport to Lamborghini’s most exclusive world,” Reggiano said.
Lamsenghini, Essenza SCV12 owns the most powerful V12 the company has ever produced. The 6.3-liter engine is “naturally aspirated,” meaning it doesn’t have turbochargers or supercompressors, mechanical devices that force air into the engine to increase power. However, it will produce more than 818 horsepower, the company said. Reggani said mechanical air compressors like these would not provide the kind of sound and performance that customers expect from Lamborghini.
SCV12 has an air spoon, which at high speeds creates a supercharging effect. The forward-facing front feeds air directly to the engine, so that when the car is moving faster, air is forced into the engine at higher and higher pressures, allowing for more power.
The Essenza SCV12 is rear-wheel drive unlike most Lamborghinis, which are all-wheel drive. It has a new six-speed transmission with steering wheel paddle switches of a type that will be used in other future Lamborghini cars. To make the car as light and compact as possible, the transmission is integrated into the car’s structure, with the rear suspension of the SCV12 mounted directly to the gearbox.
SCV12 is not designed to comply with worldwide road safety regulations, but is designed to comply with FIA regulations. The International Federation of Federations runs various auto races worldwide,, including Formula 1 and the World Endurance Championship, which ends in 24 hours at Le Mans.
Like a true racing car, the SCV12 is designed so that each of the three main sections that make up the body can be quickly replaced during a pit stop. While the car can be painted in any color the customer wants, Lamborghini offers it in a special scheme for inspired racing paints, including a sponsor’s logo. The rectangular steering wheel of the car with a built-in display is modeled on the steering wheels of Formula 1 cars.
“SC” in “SCV12” means Squadra Corse, or “racing team” in Italian,, which is also the name of Lamborghini’s automotive sports department, founded in 2014. Ferruccio Lamborghini, who founded the company in 1963, for some reason did not want his company to participate in competitions, preferring Lamborghini to concentrate on making cars exclusively for road use, unlike its neighboring Ferrari, Ferusio Lamborghini sold its eponymous company in 1972 and under Volkswagen’s ownership today Lamborghini cars compete in various sports car races, including in Le Mans, and in the Super Trofeo, a racing car. series only for Lamborghini Huracáns.
Lamborghini’s Squadra Corse will take care of the cars and handle their transport to the tracks and help the owners learn how to drive them. In essence, SCV12 owners will be treated as if they were professional racers, in addition to not competing, Lamborghini will schedule five track events a year for the first three years for SCV12 owners, one of which will come at no extra charge. Owners will be charged for each of the other four events, as well as for any additional track visits they would like to arrange.
This new Lamborghini ownership experience is similar to Ferrari’s Corse Cliente XX program. In the Ferrari program, which began with the limited edition Ferrari FXX in 2005, owners of off-road special vehicles can participate in driving and testing sessions with Ferrari engineers. These cars are also used to test technologies that may appear in more affordable Ferrari models in the future, as in the new Lamborghini transmission.
