Using a 2020 Ford VIN decoder, a third powertrain option was also spotted: a plug-in hybrid drivetrain. The Corsair plug-in is expected to use the same 2.5-liter four-cylinder Duratec engine currently found in the Ford Fusion Energi. In the Fusion, this engine produces 175 hp but should offer more thanks to the electric assist. Lincoln will probably make improvements to this drivetrain's electric range, which is currently at 25 miles in the Fusion. With Ford to kill the Fusion and all its other sedans, it makes sense to use the plug-in hybrid system to make a crossover more appealing to buyers.
