As part of Trump’s campaign to put pressure on federal scientists over covid-19 treatment
President Trump’s indictment tweeted at 7:49 a.m. Saturday: “The deep state” in the Food and Drug Administration was trying to limit its election prospects by slowing progress in coronavirus treatment and vaccines until Nov. 3.
Shocked and upset, FDA Commissioner Stephen Hahn, who was tweeted, immediately began calling his White House contacts to find out why the president was angry. The White House will thwart those plans, turning the preliminary finding of moderate efficacy into something much bigger – a presidential announcement of a “major therapeutic breakthrough for the Chinese virus,” as White House spokeswoman Kaylee McEnnany tweeted late Saturday night.
