An 18-year-old woman died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the Louisville, Keith residence on Friday as authorities tried to issue an arrest warrant for the attack, authorities said.
The Louisville Police Department says U.S. Marshals and Marshals Service tried to serve the warrant shortly before 3 p.m.
“As they were knocking and announcing their presence, a shot was heard inside the residence,” the department said.
No officer or marshal has dropped his weapon, it said. The woman was found dead in the home from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.
There were people in the home, but it was not clear how many.
The department initially said the order was for murder, but made the correction at a press conference after the incident. The attack order was related to a shooting that took place in August involving a Lyft driver, a police spokesman said at a news conference Friday night.
