The deadline for trading in the NFL is fast approaching (November 3) and with the teams struggling to add the last piece to their list, some moves will be made. Historically, the Steelers are not a team involved in the seasonal movement of players. However, with some injuries and minor performances, the Steelers can be in the game in a few moves. Today I made a list of playing rumors that the Steelers may be interested in the “insiders” of the NFL. We will give the rumors a degree of validity and what it may take to make the move work. Let’s get into it!
Pat McAfee retired from football back in 2016. Despite a relatively short term in the NFL, McAfee needed an NFL All-Decade Punter for the 10. Still just 33, a Pittsburgh native has heard his name revolve around rumors of a return several times. Most notable is being a bear in 2018 and joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers earlier this season. Although returning has never become a contract, perhaps the custom of playing for your home team, with a chance to win a Super Bowl, can just be quite tempting.
Validity of rumors: 2/10
Mark Madden is not the most reliable source, but according to rumors, the Steelers are looking for another player. Using returning Jordan Berry as a stop player. It’s also worth noting that about two minutes after the Steelers announced the release of Dustin Colquitt, McAfee posted a video of hinges blooming in the backyard.
On the other hand, McAfee enjoys his life as an extremely successful podcaster, WWE fighter, college game analyst and more. The Steelers may have to let Pat do some of these things if they wanted to force him to retire.
The other Punter, whose name is associated with the Steelers, is Market King. This is a rumor led by fans, as King is an extremely popular name among the followers of Steelers twitter / reddit.
Validity of rumors: 5/10
It takes two to tan in the NFL, and Market King has responded more than the love sent by the Steelers. Unlike Pat McAfee, King is desperate to return to the NFL and is interested in joining the Black and Gold.
Robert Spillane blinded his short time as a starting defender for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He makes an effort worthy of starting these teams for the rest of the year. That said, when Spilane was wounded against the Titans in Tennessee, I held my breath. This team cannot afford another injury in this position. They don’t have to trade for someone to be a beginner. Enter Avery Williamson, who fits perfectly in almost every way.
The Steelers could appreciate the commercial market after Devin Bush was injured. The Jets may try to unload contracts, and Avery Williamson ($ 4.75 million) will be out of the books in 2021. The same is true of Chargers’ Denzel Periman, who is not receiving significant photos and is likely to welcome a fresh start.

Validity of rumors: 7/0
This move almost makes too much sense. To the point where it is almost difficult to understand why it has not yet been made. If Steelers want to do some kind of spraying, this is the transaction they need to make. If the Steelers acquired Williamson this week, he would have only a $ 1,718,750 hit, plus his deal would expire at the end of the season (perfect for returning Devin Bush) and he was one of the Jets’ only bright spots. Basically, everyone will be in the block for the Jets, and the Steelers may be able to take Williamson for the tune of the seventh round of the draft.
Denzel Periman is a very similar version of Avery Williamson. The two main differences are that Periman will have an even smaller remaining shot, but is on a team less likely to hand out his players in a fiery sale.
Rumor validity: 3/10
While everything else is in order, I just can’t see how the chargers move Perryman to AFC for nothing. Los Angeles has a good young team and will still have some value for a player like Periman. Given that if they can’t make something work for Williamson, this must be the next phone call they make.
The following players do not have reliable connections, but have discarded their names with the Steelers because something the “football people” want to see has happened. But it certainly won’t happen.
JJ Watt “The story that all three Watt brothers are in Pittsburgh is amusing to discuss.” The feasibility of such a move does not make sense. The Steelers already have one of the best fours in football and the unit already commands a lot of money. If the Texans have to continue from the former three-time defender of the year, I’d rather look at a team like Seattle, but they have to raise capital. Watt’s eldest brother seems destined to suffer another horrific season in Houston.
Dwayne Haskins “It just won’t die.” First ESPN’s Bill Barwell came up with the idea in an article, then Andrew Filiponi shared the idea on his platforms, and finally outlets like total pr sports claim that this trade is one of the highlights of the trading deadline. Of course, Haskins may be in the block, but the Steelers will not add anyone to their defense room. Nor will they overpay a player like Haskins.
These are all names that are currently being thrown in the direction of the Steelers. Whether any of them adheres, no one knows … And yet! For more rumors, updates and coverage, follow BTSC. Your department store for everything Pittsburgh Steelers.
