Mercury Transit 2019: Top Photos from Twitter, Instagram, etc.

Hey, space fans! Mercury transit in 2019 is finally upon us, and after months of waiting, it is time for heavenly observation of the event throughout the year. This rare event won't happen again until 2032.

Watch it live on Space.com!

Today, in 5.5 hours, the planet Mercury will cross the face of the sun, as seen from Earth, in what scientists call transit. The event starts at 19:34 EST (1534 GMT) and will end at 13:04 EDT (1804 GMT).

You can watch the entire event from the beginning to the end of Space.com, courtesy of Slooh.com, and below we will show the best images from social media. So scroll down and enjoy the incredible 2019 Mercury transit photos. We will be updating this throughout the transit, so check back for more!
