This makes the circles and is worth sharing, as it is from a source we trust.
According to Dave Biddle of Bucknuts.com (a former colleague of mine at 247Sports), there was something different between Michigan head coach Jim Harbow and Ohio head coach Ryan Day during a call for the Big Ten coaches. Harbo – always a well-known sticker for following the rules in sports – allegedly interrupted Den, which led Dan to say that the Werewolves better hope that the conference introduces a rule of mercy.
We’ve seen screenshots and other summaries, but notice, this comes from Biddle’s VIP post on 247Sports Ohio State.
Elsewhere, Dan is also reported to have told Harbo while calling that Michi had better hope there was a mercy rule because Ohio would “hook you up to 100.” However, Dan did not say that when he called.
However, he said these identical words during a meeting of the team today, which took place not long after the call among the head coaches of B1G. He told his team that it was better for the conference to have a mercy rule or for the bouquet players to score 100 points on Wolverines.
Get it for what’s worth it. Regardless of the circumstances, it’s always good to see the rivalry heat up, even if the Michigan side incites the Ohio state.
The last few years have been diverted in favor of the Bouquets through the board, so maybe Harbo, hearing what Day said behind closed doors, could have the opposite effect. Harbaugh’s Michigan teams have been blown up by OSU three out of five times, but Wolverines almost won in 2016 and kept it close, even though he was downplayed by injuries as a defender in 2017.
For now, we will have to wait, strangely, for a mid-season match between the rival arches, as the game takes place on October 24 in Columbus, according to the newly released Big Ten schedule.
