Microsoft has begun publicly testing its new Edge Chromium browser on Xbox consoles. Alpha Skip-Ahead Xbox testers now have access to the new Microsoft Edge on Xbox One or Xbox Series S / X consoles. Although full mouse and keyboard support is still lacking, the browser works as you’d expect with an Xbox controller, though little buggy in this initial test version.
Xbox’s Chromium browser is a boost for those who want to access websites through their console. Edge will also now provide access to Google’s Stadia streaming service, thanks to improved support for Chromium compatibility. It should also improve compatibility with browser-based games and services such as Skype or Discord over the network.
This early test version seems to include the same sync mechanism used in the Edge, with support for extensions, vertical partitions, collections, and most Edge desktop features.
