Florida football Seminoles won their first win under Mike Norwell as they beat 5th North Carolina 31-28 tonight. Tonight, the game showed a lot of what Norway was looking for from this team: constant effort, tenacity and reaction. Combining these three things helped FSU win the last second victory over Tarheels. Here’s what Norwell had to say after the victory.
About his team’s presentation: “These kids did a great job believing what we asked them to do. They go to work every day and just try to improve … I am so proud of this football team and everything they have achieved tonight. “
About the special teams game: “I thought two locked hinges set the standard for how we want to play.”
Regarding the feeling of coming home this victory: “There really are no words for it. It’s so special. It was every moment, we tried to grow and improve and believing in what was to come.
About the ability to end the game: “These guys are done. This is something so important. We want to be known as a group of finishers. “
About the defense and the inaccessible players: “I thought the defense responded incredibly. The number of boys who were not available tonight was difficult. This is a great insult that we have just faced. Our boys just kept up the challenge. “
About how the defense responded to great plays: “They were ready for the next one. You can see it in their body language. They finished the work. ”
About Jordan Travis: “I think Jordan is an incredible competitor. He made some amazing plays. He led this violation. There is a great deal of confidence in what he is doing. He is a warrior.
“Whatever it takes. We need 60 minutes to have our backs to each other.”
