Raconteurs cancel their set at Woodstock 50, a representative of the group confirms Pitchfork. By contrast, they play a Niagara, New York show at The Rapids Theater on August 16th. Miley Cyrus has also dropped out of the festival, Variety reports, and Pitchfork has learned.
According to ] Rolling Stone Santana and the Lumineers also got out, joining JAY-Z, John Fogerty of Creedence Clearwater Revival, Dead & Company and John Sebastian's Loving Spoonful as acts that publicly announced their cancellation. The Black Keys gave up the festival in April.
After failing to obtain a permit approved in a number of moving locations in New York, Woodstock 50 organizers recently announced that the festival will now be held at the Merriweather Post in Columbia, Maryland. But according to Howard Scott Scott Peterson's RS organizers have yet to apply for a festival permit. The venue's operator also confirmed reports that tickets to the festival would be free, although he was skeptical that the organizers would continue to have a "show". Although the final lineup and ticket information are not yet publicly available, the festival will still take place over the originally scheduled weekend of August 1
