Missouri breaks coronavirus record again Coronavirus

Gov. Mike Parson has repeatedly refused to impose masks in the state, although the state health department and federal and international health officials recommend masks.

Government officials have struggled to report data consistently, changing their reporting method and reviewing past numbers when new information comes in.

Missouri officials say 1,431 people were hospitalized by Friday, down 30 from Thursday. At least 63% of intensive care beds are occupied in different regions, with a high 88% of intensive care beds being occupied in the northwest corner of the state.

At the local level, the St. Louis Pandemic Task Force has also noticed an increase in the seven-day moving average of hospital admissions and of patients known or suspected of having COVID-19 who are in district hospitals. There are 82 patients in the intensive care units and 40 in ventilators, they said. A total of 7,035 patients were discharged from hospitals.

The number of cases in Illinois is growing

Illinois reported a total of 339,803 cases and 9,192 deaths on Saturday, an increase of 3,629 cases and 27 deaths from the previous day.

Officials said 2,073 patients were in Illinois hospitals, 422 in intensive care units and 165 on ventilators.

Illinois Gov. J. Mr Pritzker said Friday that he was “deeply concerned” about the rise in cases and positivity in Illinois and across the country. The positivity rate in this condition was 5.1% on Friday.
