MLB Playoffs: Schedule, results for eight games post-season game on Wednesday

The Major League 2020 baseball postseason kicked off on Tuesday with the best of three Wild Card series. For the playoffs this year there will be an expanded field with sixteen competing teams. Now, Wednesday brings us a busy schedule with matches on both sides of the American League and the National League in progress.

There will be a total of eight matches, which start in the early afternoon and last until late in the evening. Since all Wild Card Series games are played in the parks of the higher level teams, there will be no weekends during these rounds, which means there will potentially be as many games on Thursday as well.

Dodgers and Reiss are the best seeds in NL and AL, respectively. The Yankees face Cleveland in the first round, while Marlins, Padres and White Sox completed the long sushi after the season to reach October. Here is the full schedule for the best of the three Wild Card series on Wednesday. ESPN and ESPN2 games can be streamed via fuboTV (Try for free).

Wild Card Series schedule for Wednesday

(All hours are American / Eastern)

7;s what you need to know about each match:

Game Reds-Braves 1

RHP Trevor Bauer (5-4, 1.73) vs. LHP Max Fried (7-0, 2.25 ERA)

The Reds and Braves Wild Card series will include two of the best pitchers in baseball. As the Braves enter the season after a third consecutive National League East title, they will have to start their attack early against Bauer.

Game Astros-Twins 2

RHP Jose Urquidy (1-1, 2.73 ERA) vs. RHP Jose Berrios (5-4, 4.00 ERA)

The Twins will turn to Berrios in the current elimination game, as well as another attempt to break the club’s record, a 17-match losing streak after the season dating back to the 2004 ALDS. The losing streak after the season was already the longest in history of MLB.

Game Marlins-Cubs 1

RHP Sandy Alcantara (3-2, 3.00 ERA) vs. RHP Kyle Hendricks (6-5, 2.88 ERA)

The young Marlins will fight the veteran Cubs in the new series on Wednesday. This is Marlins’ third appearance since the season; they have never lost a series after a season in franchise history. In the previous two from Miami – 1997 and 2003 – they took home the World Series title. The Cubes, who are making their fifth post-season trip in six years, hope their entire squad will continue to warm up after the club has scored 25 runs in its last three regular season games.

White Sox Athletics 2

LHP Dallas Keuchel (6-2, 1.99 ERA) vs. RHP Chris Bassitt (5-2, 2.29 ERA)

With Keuchel on the mound, the White Sox have a chance to deal with another A outing in the post-season period. In Game 1, Lucas Jolito flirted with a perfect game before eventually combining three relievers with three strikers and a 4-1 victory.

Game Blue Jays-Rays 2

LHP Hyun-Jin Ryu (5-2 2.69 ERA) vs. RHP Tyler Glasnow (5-1, 4.08 ERA)

Reyes’ voice will seek to follow him in Blake Snell’s performance in Game 1 as he tries to stop with a powerful foul by Toronto. Meanwhile, the Blue Jays hope that Ryu – their big off-season acquisition – can level the best of the three series.

Game of Cardinals-Padres 1

LHP Kwang-Hyun Kim (3-0, 1.62 ERA) vs. RHP Chris Padak (4-5, 4.73 ERA)

Paddack received a nod for Padres in Game 1 after injuries to Dinelson Lamet and Mike Clevinger. The cards went with Kim over Jack Flaherty, in part because the San Diego squad is fighting leftists. The Padres have won their first place since the 2006 season with a strong 37-23 final regular season. Meanwhile, the cardinals overcame the outbreak of coronavirus, which eliminated the club for 15 consecutive days. To reach the playoffs, the cards were forced to play 53 games in 44 days, including 11 backups.

Yankees-Cleveland Game 2

RHP Masahiro Tanaka (3-3, 3.56 ERA) vs. RHP Carlos Carrasco (3-4, 2.91 ERA)

Game 1 was declared the best match of the season with Gerrit Cole against Shane Bieber, but instead led to a Yankee violation blowing Cleveland. It is possible that Game 2 will compensate for the non-existent battle with a dude, as Tanaka and Carrasco are ready to take the mound in a potential game to eliminate Cleveland. Tanaka was ruled out of the season and the veteran has a 1.76 ERA with 37 strokes in eight playoff starts.

Game Brewers-Dodgers 1

LHP Brent Suter (2-0, 3.13 ERA) vs. RHP Walker Buehler (1-0, 3.44 ERA)

Milwaukee has decided to go with a bull game in the Wild Card Series opener. Sutter and his fellow bikers will face the best offense in baseball.
