The 49 received another bodily injury on Monday night.
Not long after confirming the protective end, Nick Boza tore the anterior sacral ligament in his left knee, 49ers announced that MRI confirmed that Solomon Thomas tore the ACL in his left knee.
Thomas, the third overall pick in 2017, injured his knee in two games after Boza did. He made two decisions in nine clicks before leaving.
Thomas has not signed for 2021, scheduled to become a free agent in March after the 49ers turned down their fifth-year opportunity.
He made 30 starts, 95 appearances and six sacks in four seasons, a disappointment given where the 49 chose him.
The 49ers signed Ziggy Ansah earlier in the day, but will find it difficult to make up for the loss of both Bosa and Thomas.
