ISLAMABAD – A major power outage hit Pakistan earlier Sunday, one of the biggest power outages, affecting the country with more than 200 million.
The eclipse affected much of the nation, including major cities such as Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Karachi, Queta, Peshawar and others.
A news account on the Propakistani website says the failure followed the disconnection of a power line on the national grid, although the exact reason was not immediately clear. It quoted officials from the energy ministry as saying the restoration of power could take hours.
