After officially lost Opportunity rover to a dust storm on Mars, fans of Red Planet machines are beginning to worry about NASA's still functioning Rover of Curiosity. The web page of the burger did not receive mission updates or new raw images for a week.
Now we know why.
NASA announced on Friday that Curiosity experienced a "hiccup during charging" the previous Friday. This led to the emergence of the shunting in a safe regime and the interruption of the planned scientific activities.
Since then, curiosity has increased more than 30 times without any signs of additional problems, but the Rover team is still receiving and looking for technical data to diagnose a mysterious problem.
"We're working to take a picture of her memory so we can better understand what might have happened," said Stephen Lee, Curiosity Deputy Project Leader. NASA holds the Rover's scientific operations while investigating.
In the past, the rover has encountered some technical situation, including a memory bug at the end of 201
Curiosity is currently exploring an interesting new area on Mars called Glen Toridon. The team monitors the possible drilling space at a distance of 200 meters.
We hope that curiosity will soon get everything from NASA to renew its scientific duties.
