Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz dashed to New York on Saturday night to determine which was the worst motherf ** ker in the UFC, and the results were … slightly unconvincing. Jorge Masvidal obviously won the match by entering the fourth round (we had all three rounds to go our way in our game play), but a nasty cut over Nate Diaz's eye forced a doctor to stop, sending Masvidal to victory via TKO. This was obviously a controversial move for many fans. We saw worse in MMA and the overall consensus was if this match was held in Las Vegas, we would have reached at least one more round. Leading the list of dissatisfied people in terms of results was Nate Diaz himself, who believes the loss began to unfold months ago when the UFC booked him shortly after winning against Anthony Petis in August.
"I just feel like there was a day and night camp," Diaz told the post-fight press conference. "I think I could use a little more time. My eye was already shit since my last fight. Anyway, you sneeze at me and I bleed. Blood doesn't hurt, just in case someone doesn't know. Right there.
”I knew they wanted to bring me back. Why couldn't it be six months after the battle with Petis? "He asked. "They want me in the most f ** ked up circumstances, or I go in the most f ** ked up circumstances. It would have been nice for a little while. And I think I heard my eye go out for the second round like the third. The doctor played me, he was like, "Oh, man I don't know." No, I'm fine. He asks me “Are you good? Can you see from that? Yes, cool. "And then he goes to the other guy and he's like, 'Fight. "I'm like what the f ** k."
A brief twist wasn't the only problem Nate was getting into.
"I had a knee injury about three weeks ago and that kept me from running," Diaz explained. "And so I keep telling all the guys whether you're going to fight people you have to run and you have to run hard. And you have to make rounds, you have to pair and you have to run, that's the key, you know. So I didn't have that, I don't feel like I had it, this confidence that I usually have in my cardio as I go and push. I knew I could do five laps for sure, no matter what, but I couldn't keep up the pressure. I did not have the confidence to maintain the pressure I usually maintain because I wanted to make sure I did it well.
UFC President Dana White has already shattered ideas for an immediate rematch, but Diaz is hopeful Jorge Masvidal maintains him real and forces the promotion to put the two back in the cage against each other.
"Yes, because if you are the worst mother mother ** because, will you take that as a profit?" Diaz asked. "Like Conor, when I fought Conor." It was a win, a fair game. But I wasn't done. He knows I wasn't done. I was ready to rock. And this is my plan, this is my next move. I'd like to take it back, it's the only thing I want to do. This is my full intention. But I can already see f ** kery coming. I know how this game works. I give all the remakes and make names for all these people. I believe I was responsible for all this shit. I brought the president straight. I don't see the president walking without duels. So I believe it's fair and we hope they don't throw a bunch of money at Jorge to "Let's do something else."
"Dana already says it's ** t, you know? I have to get my rematch and come back, do things right, make things safe. Come back 1
" Conor didn't take the rematch, "Nate added." May Masvidal take the rematch. Do you know all the remarks, do you know what I'm saying? and I hope everyone gets on the same page and we work together. Otherwise it could be three years ago again. And I can already see them coming to the media with this Dana White "I don't know about that." begins. "
" My plan is to tell them everything, "f ** k you," and then hope that we'll see each other soon and then let's get back to it. This is my plan. You have to kill me there. It all happened and I would like to repeat myself. F ** k, with all due respect. " again, but he backed off and said he would consider other options for battle as long as they recognized him as the title fighter. worthy title fights against opponents of a big deal.
.. don't play me the way you have, and this is where it starts, I can already feel it, "said Diaz. "So if we're going to do something else, don't tell me I have to fight Joe Blow here because I don't want to hear it. And they say, "We offered him fights, we offered him fights," I'm not trying to hear all this. I plan to get on with them, I hope they plan on getting back together.
And what do you think, maniacs? If not Masvidal, then who?
