A new version of Nvidia Shield appears on the Google Play Developer console. The new hardware goes under the hardware code name "mdarcy", unlike the "darcy" of the current model, and it will work with Android 9 Pie.

There are several differences between the two hardware lists, but the main one is the Android 9 SDK support for the new version, which will show that it will launch with Android 9 Pie. The new mdarcy ad has the same Tegra X1 T210 SoC, which is referred to as Shield's current screen, but that does not necessarily mean that the hardware is unchanged. This can only be a substitute.
The difference in the characteristics between darcy (red) and mdarcy (green), white is shared.
There is also a new hot word system related to mdarcy's hardware. This is a little speculative because the documentation for this feature is scarce, but this can show that the functionality of the word-wizard with smart smartphone can be baked over and over the current voice input of the remote Shield management.
A few months ago, XDA noticed two new Nvidia hardware code names: "stormcaster" is a new Shield controller, and "Friday" is a new Shield remote. This hardware can debut with this new Shield TV.
The new model appears to be a minor update, as the mdarcy hardly changed the hardware code name. This is speculative but this update may accompany the general update of the Android product line 9 Pie – Nvidia 2015 Shield TV is among the most durable hardware systems ever running Android and the company keeps updating it even as a thinner The 2017 model replaced it. As mentioned earlier, some of the details in the play console list can also be substitutes and there may be other changes and newer features associated with this new hardware.
