New York (AP) – New York will terminate business contracts with President Donald Trump after last week’s uprising in the US Capitol, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced on Wednesday.
Trump’s organization has a city contract to operate the two ice rinks and carousel in Central Park, as well as a golf course in the Bronx.
Trump earns about $ 17 million a year from these sites, de Blasio said.
“I’m here to announce that the city of New York is terminating all contracts with Trump,”
An email was sent to Trump on Wednesday asking for comment.
This is the latest example of how the January 6 violation by violent supporters of Trump affects the business interests of the Republican president.
America’s PGA voted Sunday to withdraw the PGA Championship from its New Jersey golf course next year, a move that occurred after social media platforms deactivated Trump’s accounts and Shopify removed online stores associated with him.
