My two-game lead was wasted.

The pathetic performance of 6-8 last week in the upright category, along with MDS’s 9-5, gave MDS an advantage in one game every 10 weeks. He also took three games against the spread, 7-6-1 against 4-9-1.

MDS is now 92-57 and I am 91-58. Against the spread, I still have a decent lead at 67-75-4. MDS is 58-86-2.

We don’t agree on six games this week. Select scrolling for all photos.

Cardinals (+3) at Seahawks

Take MDS: The NFC West race is wide open and that makes Thursday night’s game huge this week. I still look at the Seahawks as favorites and they will take a big step towards another division title with a victory.

Choice of MDS: Seahawks 35, Cardinals 30.

The capture of Florio: The Seattle spirit remains ready. The flesh becomes weaker and weaker. Arizona won at the home of the 12th man last year when fans were present. This year it will be even easier to take it out. Not that it’s easy.

Florio’s choice: Cardinals 34, Seahawks 31.

Eagles (+3.5) in Browns

Take MDS: The Browns still have good chances on the spot for AFC wild cards and will come one step closer with a win over an Eagles team that looked terrible.

Choice of MDS: Brown 24, Eagle 23.

The capture of Florio: The team that was torn for not choosing Carson Wentz is now very happy that they didn’t.

Florio’s choice: Brown 27, Eagle 20.

Falcons (+5) with the saints

Take MDS: It would be useful to know for sure who starts with a quarterback for the Saints, but whether it’s Jameis Winston or Taysom Hill, I expect the Saints’ strong defense to lead them to victory.

Choice of MDS: Saints 17, Falcons 10.

The capture of Florio: Sean Peyton loves a good challenge. He has several of them this week, without Drew Bryce.

Florio’s choice: Saints 28, Falcons 20.

Bengals (+1) in Washington

Take MDS: I liked what I saw from Alex Smith in his first start in almost two years and this week I think he will get his first victory in more than two years.

Choice of MDS: Washington 20, Bengals 13.

The capture of Florio: The Bengalis are not as good as the team that defeated the Titans, and the Bengals are not as bad as the team that was blown away by the Steelers. They are good enough to beat Washington, however, thanks to Joe Burrow.

Florio’s choice: Bengals 24, Washington 20.

Lions (+1.5) in Panthers

Take MDS: The Lions sneak into the discussion for the NFC playoffs and will get a break against the shaken Panthers team.

Choice of MDS: Lions 24, Panthers 16.

The capture of Florio: Carolina plays better than their 3-7 record suggests. Lions often play worse than 4-5 suggests. With Teddy Bridgewater on the track, the Panthers must break their losing streak and escape from the basement of NFC South.

Florio’s choice: Panthers 24, Lions 20.

Steelers (-10) in Jaguars

Take MDS: Mike Tomlin claims that the Jaguars are a tough test for the Steelers, but the reality is that Pittsburgh will travel against an outspoken rival.

Choice of MDS: Steelers 35, Jaguars 17.

The capture of Florio: Jaguars have hampered Pittsburgh enough times over the years to ensure the Steelers will take a baseball bat to a potential trap game.

Florio’s choice: Steelers 31, Jaguars 13.

Titanium (+6.5) at Ravens

Take MDS: The Ravens ‘attack is struggling this season, but the Titans’ defense is also struggling and I expect Lamar Jackson to have one of his better games in a win in Baltimore.

Choice of MDS: Ravens 28, Titans 20.

The capture of Florio: Both teams are going in the wrong direction. Ravens have more overall talent, which gives them a better chance to turn it around.

Florio’s choice: Ravens 24, Titans 17.

Patriots (-2) in Texas

Take MDS: Don’t count the Patriots outside of the playoffs yet. They shouldn’t have too many problems against a bad team from Texas.

Choice of MDS: Patriots 27, Texans 17.

The capture of Florio: New England may not reach the playoffs, but the road will not end against a superior team from Houston.

Florio’s choice: Patriots 23, Texans 14.

Dolphins (-3) in the Broncos

Take MDS: Tua Tagovailoa could become the first quarterback rookie after Ben Rotlisberger to win his first four starts and I expect him to do just that.

Choice of MDS: Dolphins 28, Broncos 14.

The capture of Florio: Miami is growing. Denver is sinking.

Florio’s choice: Dolphins 24, Broncos 13.

Jets (+8.5) for chargers

Take MDS: Justin Herbert has a strong rookie season, but that doesn’t lead to many wins. That will change against the Jets.

Choice of MDS: Chargers 33, jets 17.

The capture of Florio: This could be the Jets’ last, best chance to win by the end of the season, if not longer.

Florio’s choice: Jets 24, Chargers 21.

Packers (+2) in Colts

Take MDS: Aaron Rodgers will have a hard time against the excellent defense of the Colts, and Indianapolis will continue to show that he is a vile contender for the Super Bowl.

Choice of MDS: Colts 20, Packers 16.

The capture of Florio: One of these weeks Green Bay will play a full game or something close to it.

Florio’s choice: Packers 27, Colts 20.

Cowboys (+7) in the Vikings

Take MDS: The Vikings are pushing hard to return to the playoffs after a disappointing start and have a good chance with an easy schedule.

Choice of MDS: Vikings 30, cowboys 14.

The capture of Florio: All things considered, the American team is currently performing roughly as well as the country for which it is named.

Florio’s choice: Vikings 31, Cowboys 20.

Chiefs (-7) in Raiders

Take MDS: The Raiders could make a huge statement in the race for the AFC playoffs by completing a seasonal analysis of the Chiefs. But I don’t see it happening. Kansas City will be ready to play.

Choice of MDS: Chiefs 28, Raiders 24.

The capture of Florio: Andy Reed rarely loses two weeks to prepare. Leaders rarely lose their full focus and attention to their opponent.

Florio’s choice: Chiefs 34, Raiders 21.

Aries (+4) in Buccaneers

Take MDS: It’s great between two contenders for the NFC playoffs and I like the Buccaneers to keep up with the Saints in the NFC South, while the Rams give way to play in the NFC West.

Choice of MDS: Buccaneers 24, Rams 17.

The capture of Florio: Bucs have a problem in prime time and a few night practices won’t change that – not with an excellent team coming to town.

Florio’s choice: Rams 27, Buccaneers 23.
