Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem are negotiating the role of the iconic Hollywood couple Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, respectively, in the upcoming film “Being Ricardo”, directed by Aaron Sorkin.
The film will take place during a production week on the set of “I Love Lucy”, starting with a table on Monday, read through the photos of the audience on Friday. Ball and Arnaz will face challenges that could end their careers and marriages.
Sorkin is a screenwriter and will direct the film for Amazon Studios and Escape Artists. Will be produced by Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tish of Escape Artists. Jenna Block and David Bloomfield of Escape Artists will be executive producers, along with Stuart Besser, Lucy Arnaz, Desi Arnaz Jr. and Lauren Lohmann.

Kidman recently starred in the HBO drama series “The Undoing,” along with Hugh Grant. She was also featured in Ryan Murphy’s musical “The Prom” on Netflix. This year she will star in Hulu’s “Nine Little Strangers” and Robert Eggers’ “The Northman.”
Bardem will star in Deni Villeneuve’s sci-fi epic Dune, and was last seen in The Roads That Have Not Been Taken. He will also play Ariel King Triton’s father in a remake of Disney’s The Little Mermaid.
Sorkin has just released Netflix’s “The Chicago Experience 7,” which is making a big buzz for the Oscars. He made his directorial debut with “Molly’s Game” starring Jessica Chastain and wrote the screenplays for “Social Network”, “A Few Good Men” and “Moneyball”.
Kidman is represented by CAA, Shanahan Management and Media Talent Group. Bardem is represented by WME. Sorkin is represented by the CAA.
