After retro in 2016, the color range of OG “Freshwater” of Nike Air Griffey Max 1 should return next year in honor of the 25th anniversary of the model.
Known by “The Kid” Ken Griffy Jr. in 1996, the Air Griffey Max 1 is an everyday cross-style version of the wearers he wore on the diamond. Featuring a wavy black nubuck upper with a white leather base, the shoe uses a shoe design and a secure Nike strap that wraps around the ankle. The pairing of this pair with the threads of the Seattle Mariners of Griffins is the signing of the aqua shoes “Freshwater”
Most recently, the color color of OG “Emerald” by Air Griffey Max 1 inspired a new Nike SB Dunk Mid.
There is currently no exact date for this pair, but the arrival of official images of Nike products suggests that it may be canceled sooner rather than later. Expect the “freshwater” Nike Air Griffey Max 1 to come out sometime in early 2021.
UPDATE (01/09): Official images of “FreshWater” Nike Air Griffey Max 1 retro have appeared and according to the DTLR release calendar, the pair is expected to return on February 15 for $ 170.
