Colin Kaepernick received a W on Sunday – and he has an Emmy to prove it !!
Nike "Dream Crazy" commercial featuring NFL fourback was nominated for 2019 Creative Arts Emmy for Best Commercial … Faced with fierce competition from ads for Netflix and Apple.
But Colin's place came out victorious … and we're told that Colin and The Swoosh have been PUMPED. Our sources tell us that Cap is especially proud of being involved in the creative process.
As previously reported, advertisement was produced by the Wieden + Kennedy agency, a Portland-based company located near Nike Headquarters. They are known to have produced commercial ads for Old Spice Terry Crews and Bud Lite's "Dilly Dilly".
The spot dropped back in September and includes Kap telling inspirational messages to overcome the odds … while using other huge athletes
"Don't Imagine Wearing a T-shirt [Odell Beckham’s]. Imagine an OBJ wearing yours," Cap.
He also mentioned Shaquem Griffin LeBron James and Serena Williams …
"And, if you're a Compton girl, don't just become a tennis player. the greatest athlete ever. Yes, it's more like that. "
Nike caught some lack of advertising because people took issue with Colin's line:" Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything. "
Critics say Colin doesn't really "sacrifice everything" since there are still millions in the bank – while military members who died in action did indeed sacrifice
People burned shoes and Nike boycotted – but that does not seem to affect the company … stock plunge after advertising, but then bounced right back.
