Nikon announces Nikkor Z 24mm f / 1.8 S, a fast wide-angle main lens for its frameless, cameraless cameras.
'24 mm f / 1.8 S is optimized for everything from cityscapes to environmental portraits and is designed to take advantage of Nikon's large Z-mount, providing the best combination of fast, bright and sharp features in almost all lighting conditions, "says Nikon.
Equipped with a Nikon multifunctional system, the lens uses two tandem AF devices to achieve fast, accurate autofocus, even at a minimum focal length of 9.84 inches (0.25 m).
Features and specifications of the lens include 12 elements in 10 groups, maximum magnification 0.15x, 9 – round aperture for "beautiful round bokeh", design resistant to dust and droplets, magnesium alloy, nanocrystalline coating that fights with ghosts and flames, four aspherical elements, along with an extremely low dispersion (ED) deflection element, 72m filter thread, and a weight of 0.99 pounds (450 g).
For video shooting, the lens has near-silent autofocus (thanks to its stepping motors), reduced breathing focus and personalized ring control.
