Nintendo eShop down, ostensibly due to Monster Hunter Rise Demo Demand [Updated]

Nintendo has confirmed that the outage is over, and IGN has been able to access the Nintendo eShop (and download the Monster Hunter demo). Nintendo eShop is not currently working on unplanned “emergency support”, which may be due to demand for the recently released demo Monster Hunter Rise.

The e-shop has not been open for at least 4 hours at the time of writing, and Nintendo’s Japanese Twitter customer support account has repeatedly apologized for the problems, but does not offer a time scale for repair.

Although neither Nintendo nor Capcom have specifically commented on the connection, the break coincides with the release of the demo for Monster Hunter Rise, which includes two quests and two lessons for the upcoming exclusive Switch.

7;s live broadcast of Monster Hunter revealed a number of new monsters and details about the game, including the fact that a new ability will allow you to ride monsters (an ability you can test in the demo).

The demo weighs 1.6 GB and quests can be played a maximum of 30 times before the closing date on February 1. If you can’t download, we have videos of Izuchi’s great quest and Mizutsune’s quest to check out.
