There does not appear to be any change in functionality, moreover – the biggest change would be a flexible board.
It is far from certain that Nintendo will implement this in Switch or a future console. This is the US version of the February 2018 international patent, and the biggest change so far is Switch Lite, which locks controllers in place. This is not necessarily proof of a "pro" switch or other revision. However, it is obvious that Nintendo is still looking for ways to refine the design of Joy-Con and it would not be completely shocking to see this at some point in the future.
