This free game was created by a small group of Nintendo developers who worked at home after the COVID-19 pandemic as a way to “add a little fast and fun movement to their daily lives.”
This Nintendo decision, while not necessarily a sign of things to come, may be a glimmer of hope for other Nintendo limited edition games, including Super Mario 3D All-Stars and Super Mario Bros. 35.
Super Mario 3D All-Stars brings together Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy in one collection. It is available now, but Nintendo said it will have a limited physical and digital version until March 31, 2021. It is not yet clear what will happen to these games after that.Super Mario Bros. 35 is similar to the battle for the royal version of the original Super Mario Bros., which is also reminiscent of Tetris 99. It will be available on October 1, but is now ready to be downloaded by March 31, 2021.
