The charity said it received its first donation for bitcoin in 2014, and the leading crypto asset has grown more than 100 times since then. According to the announcement, Bitcoin Water Trust has opened a charity for celebrities and luminaries who would like to donate at least 1 BTC to the fund. The founders of the Gemini exchange plan to match the first 50 donated BTC.

By establishing this trust, we seek to use the transformational power of this digital technology for generations to have a lasting social impact and in the process provide a potential model for other charities working for it.
