“Odel Beckham Jr. just texted me that his ACL was torn and that his season was over,” an NFL reporter said. Josina Anderson said Monday morning.
The 27-year-old Beckham suffered an injury during the 2nd offensive game of the Cleveland Browns match against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Baker Mayfield had fired a pass from Odell – but missed his target and the ball was intercepted. Odell tried to play and deal with the ball carrier, but came across one of his own teammates and apparently confused his left knee in the process.
This is devastating news for Cleveland – Odell had a pretty solid season with 23 catches for 319 yards and 3 TDs.
The Browns are 5: 2 and are starting to play as contenders – the loss of their number 1 receiver will definitely hurt their chances.
As for Beckham, he played all 16 games in 2019 while suffering from a groin injury – and had undergone surgery during the off-season.
Now with an ACL rupture, this will almost certainly require surgery – and usually takes about 6 to 9 months to fully recover.
Odell’s teammate and close friend Jarvis Landry offered his support – “Man, I know how hard you work and how hard you work to be legendary. My heart hurts !!!!! I love you dirt.”
