Off On Goes: Kyle Schwarber Announces Signing with Citizens (UPDATE)

If you hold out the hope that despite the unprofessional trading in December, the Cubs can reunite with outside player Kyle Schwarber, you can gather those hopes in a dusty trunk.

The 27-year-old Schwarber still has so much unrealized offensive potential as a full-back that the thought that he will finally break out with another club turns me on my stomach. I can understand the Cubs, who go on to say that they wanted to change the lineup, and maybe they don̵

7;t see Schwarber’s game change enough to fit that shape. And yes, I can also understand that the market for angular fields is busy interesting kinds. And yes, I knew that since he wasn’t auctioned, the chances of the dice actually recovering with Schwarber were about zero.

But I’m still down. Rather.

UPDATE: Schwarber gets the upper end of his possible arbitration projection, which is good for him, but also confirms that it will not have as much commercial value, given the uncertainty of arbitration this year:
