Offers for Black Friday Roku, Fire TV and Chromecast live now: Top models start at only $ 17

This story is part of Holiday Gift Guide 2020Choose CNET gifts with expert advice, reviews and recommendations for the latest technology gifts for you and your family.

Why wait Black Friday? Sales have already started on almost all of our favorite Roku, Fire TV and Chromecast devices, and we’ve put them together here. This page collects the best offers from Amazon,, Best buy,, Walmart and elsewhere. Many of these sales were advertised from November 22 to 25, but almost all of them now look live. Highlights:

  • Roku devices with new all-time records, including $ 30 for the Roku Streaming Stick Plus editor and $ 1
00 for the new Roku Streambar.
  • Fire TV Sticks and Fire TVs are returning to all-time lows, starting at just $ 18.
  • The new Chromecast packages six months from the standard Netflix plan with a nice discount or you can get an older Chromecast for under $ 20 in just a few days.

The truth is that we would always choose Roku or Chromecast with Google TV over Fire Stick, but Amazon’s streaming deals have also been really good lately and Now HBO Max is finally coming to the platform. The big contribution here is that all of these devices are at or almost all low priced and they are all a pretty great way to upgrade older TVs to the latest streaming platforms.

Please note that prices and availability were accurate at the time of publication, but they may vary.

The deals are available now

Roku Streaming Stick Plus 4K is our favorite streamer and with only $ 30 it will be quite untouchable in terms of value for money. Stick offers hundreds of applications, the excellent Roku interface and a stable voice remote control. Read our review of Roku Streaming Stick Plus.

This is not a 2020 model like the two above, but it is still the best deal. This is the only Firestick with 4K HDR video playback and only $ 2 more than the standard, non-4K stick, worth the investment, even if you don’t already have a 4K TV. See our review of Fire TV Stick 4K.

Google’s new Chromecast with Google TV has a lot to like, including a redesigned interface, 4K HDR with Dolby Vision support, a real remote control and excellent integration with Google Assistant. In an exclusive Google Store deal, the search giant combines its usual $ 50 streamer with Netflix’s standard $ 90 standard plan. The deal is available to both new and existing Netflix subscribers. 2019 Roku SE is a boneless Roku SE that can handle all your streaming needs. It’s not as fast as the Streaming Stick Plus, and doesn’t include Roku’s more useful enhanced remote control (which has a voice-controlled microphone and doesn’t require direct targeting to the TV). There is also a lack of 4K support and new features such as AirPlay. However, this is only $ 17 and should be good for basic streaming.

The SE is almost identical to the $ 25 Roku Express, except for the white color.

The biggest thing that the Fire TV Stick Lite lacks is a remote control that controls the power and volume of your TV. The Fire TV Stick for 2020 has this remote, and for Black Friday on Amazon it will be reduced from $ 40 to $ 28. But unless you really want to save $ 2, you should get the Fire TV Stick 4K instead (more below), which adds support for 4K TV resolution to the mix.

The Fire TV Cube combines a voice-controlled Alexa speaker, a Fire TV 4K video streamer and a universal remote control in one device. If you like to use your voice to control the TV – not to mention other devices in your household that are good for Alexa – it might be worth embarking on this interesting all-in-one product, priced from $ 120 to $ 80. Keep in mind that this is the latest (2019) version, which has added some nice improvements since we first rated it in 2018. Read more about the Fire TV Cube.

Fire TV Recast is one of the easiest ways to record and broadcast terrestrial TV. It integrates seamlessly with the Fire TV Stick and the $ 100 discount is an amazing deal.

Last month we saw a lot of deals with the obsolete Roku Ultra, but the 2020 model barely came out and is already giving way. From what we’ve seen, this is a significant upgrade – with Dolby Vision and better wireless performance – and the $ 70 will be a pretty big deal.

The offers are coming soon

Want a Chromecast but aren’t interested in the new Google TV software or remote? Google’s previous Chromecast will drop to $ 19 at Walmart for Black Friday. It looks like a regular Chromecast – not the 4K-capable Chromecast Ultra – but if you don’t mind running apps from your phone, tablet or computer, this is a good, inexpensive choice. Oh, and $ 5 in Vudu credit is also included. Read our review of Chromecast.

Expired (for now)

The exclusive version of Roku’s Ultra for Walmart has dropped to $ 48. Although it is a 2019 version, it usually sells for $ 79 and is a capable Roku box that has 4K HDR support, an Ethernet jack and includes a remote with a headphone jack for personal listening. While much like the basic Ultra, the Ultra LT unfortunately releases the remote search function and programmable keys on the remote. Read our full comparison of Ultra LT and other Rokus.
