Officials report 172 new cases of COVID-19, 6 new deaths related to the virus

San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg and Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolf briefed the community on the local response to COVID-19 at their daily briefing Tuesday night.

As of Tuesday, Nirenberg reported 59,902 cases of COVID-19 and a total of 1,207 deaths in Bexar County, an increase of 1

72 new cases. Six new deaths have been reported today.

The 7-day moving average of the cases is 138.

City officials also said 190 patients were hospitalized, 78 in intensive care and 39 on ventilators. 14% beds with staff and 71% fans are available.

Wolf said that on Wednesday, employees will make an announcement about the resumption of bars. He said he was waiting for health information he had asked Metro Health and recommendations from the Community Resources Committee.

Metro Health will publish an epidemiology report sometime this week on the city’s COVID-19 website. Below are some of the restaurants presented by Nirenberg:
