The Oregon Department of Humanitarian Services received federal approval to begin distributing food benefits to victims of historic Oregon wildfires last month, officials said Saturday.
Anyone who has lived or worked in Clackamas, Douglas, Jackson, Klamath, Lane, Lincoln, Lynn and Marion counties who have suffered forest fire losses may be eligible for one-month compensation through the Additional Disaster Relief Program, officials said. .
Pre-registration for the benefits is open on Saturday and lasts until Thursday. Then the seekers of benefits will do it they have to do it on certain days depending on what letter their surname begins with. October 28, the last day to apply, will be open to all, officials said.
