CLEVELAND (WJW) – The Ohio Investigation Unit cited numerous bars in northeastern Ohio on Saturday night for violating health orders for COVID-19.
According to a press release, the following local establishments received quotes:
Bar Brooklands, Akron, received a reference for misconduct – disorder. The agents arrived at the restaurant at 10:40 p.m. and found that the place was open. Nine patrons gathered inside and drank alcohol.
Cocktail salon Republix, Euclid, received a quote for misconduct ̵
B Stone Bar & Grill, Euclid, received a reference for misconduct – disorder. The agents entered the establishment at 9:20 p.m. and observed some measures and physical barriers. However, a large number of patrons were allowed to gather near the bar. Almost every seat was occupied by several patrons standing one behind the other, waiting to approach the bar. The patrons were tightly packed and allowed to stand and walk freely in the restaurant while consuming alcoholic beverages. The alcohol license was previously cited on 17 October for consumption after hours – Rule 80.
Tavern Euclid of Cebar, Euclid, received a reference for misconduct – disorder. Agents arrived at 11 p.m. and found about a dozen patrons who owned and consumed alcoholic beverages.
Corner bar, Parma Heights, received a reference for misconduct – disorder. The agents arrived at 7:25 p.m. and observed a live group of approximately 150 patrons inside the establishment. Many of the staff and patrons did not wear faceplates. There were no physical barriers in the seating area or in the bar area where each seat was occupied, and the patrons stood tightly behind each other, waiting for the order. The patrons had the right to stand and walk freely around the premises while consuming alcoholic beverages.
The above cases will be referred to the Ohio Alcohol Control Commission for possible sanctions, including fines and / or suspension or revocation of alcohol licenses.
