Ohio reported a total of more than 17,000 positive cases of COVID-19 in five days on Friday, according to the Ohio Department of Health. As of Thanksgiving and Friday, 17,065 cases of coronavirus have been registered in the country. According to ODOH, the average daily value for COVID -19 cases reported in the last seven days is 9,197 cases. On Friday, health officials also reported 72 deaths and 474 new hospitalizations over the two-day period. Eleven counties were listed on the Ohio Public Health Advisory System this week, including Hamilton, Clermont and Adams counties. This means that the counties have met enough indicators to be considered level 4 or purple, but these counties must meet the criteria two weeks in a row before the county turns purple, the health ministry said. Ohio has 399,808 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 6,346 confirmed deaths.
