The Ohio State football team is already the best team in the country according to Paul Mayerberg of USA TODAY Sports. This is not the first time the Buckeyes have been placed at the top of their weekly reorder column. In fact, OSU had a multi-week start, as the overall top program was redirected weekly.
But … like many analysts and media members, LSU's victory over Alabama just over a week ago changed Myerberg's opinion enough to keep the Bayou Tigers in the top spot, even though Ohio State scored 73 points Maryland.
Obviously, everything has changed now with the mediocre defensive performance of LSU against a rather bleak Ole Miss team this weekend. Tiger's offense looked good enough, but D gave up a total of 61
Here's what Mierberg said about Ohio State:
"Ohio State came back on top after another breeze past the Big Ten opponent, this time Rutgers. With two weeks remaining in November, the Buckeyes lead the nation in scoring offense, rushing defense and yards allowed. “
