OnePlus Nord CE may be the company’s next affordable 5G smartphone

Successor to the OnePlus Nord N10 4

  • OnePlus reportedly plans to launch a phone called the OnePlus Nord CE.
  • Previously, the device was called OnePlus Nord N1 5G.
  • It is expected to be the successor to the OnePlus Nord N10.

Last year, OnePlus released the Nord N10 and Nord N100 as two affordable offerings in its relatively new Nord series. So naturally the company is expected to release follow-up phones this year. One of these devices, according to tipster Max Yambor, will be called OnePlus Nord CE 5G.

Earlier, the liqueur announced that the phone will be named OnePlus Nord N1 5G. But now he claims the company has changed its name. He also says that OnePlus usually decides the final name of the phone about a month before launch. So the company may be preparing to launch the OnePlus Nord CE soon.

The OnePlus Nord N10 was released in October last year, so if Jambor’s theory is correct, the new Nord budget could launch months before its predecessor. However, we can’t be sure of anything, as this is still just a name leak that doesn’t give any other information about the device.

Expected specifications of OnePlus Nord CE

OnePlus Nord N10 landed with Snapdragon 690 5G SoC, 90Hz LCD display, 4300mAh battery and 64MP quad camera. Since the upcoming Nord also apparently has 5G in its name, it may come with an improved chipset.

The Snapdragon 690 does not yet have a successor, so OnePlus can use one of Qualcomm’s mid-range 700G series processors. It is also possible for OnePlus to upgrade to the MediaTek chip, as Nord 2. decided to stick to the Snapdragon 690 and upgrade other specifications.

Some time ago, tipster Steve Hemmerstofer, also known as OnLeaks, also leaked some renderings of the successor to the Nord N10. According to this leak, the height and weight of the phone are slightly reduced, but its overall dimensions are approximately the same as the Nord N10. It is also thought to come with a 6.49-inch single-hole display in the upper left corner. A 3.5mm headphone jack is also visible in the renders.

However, we will look for more information about the so-called OnePlus Nord CE. The Nord N10 and N100 have achieved impressive sales in the US and the new budget phone can further increase these figures.
