PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) – The Oregon Health Authority announced five new deaths related to COVID-19 in the state on Thursday. The death toll is now 2,439. OHA also announced 678 new cases, bringing the total to 168,795.
The OHA has identified 168 cases of the COVID-19 vaccine breakage by April 2, including three deaths. A case of breakthrough is defined as a person who infects the virus after being fully vaccinated.

These cases were reported in 25 counties and all health preparedness regions (Region 1:76; Region 2:29; Region 3:27; Region 5: 9; Region 6: 4; Region 7:17; Region 9: 6). . The OHA does not report regions where deaths have occurred.
The number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 in Oregon is 168, which is three less than Wednesday. There are 38 patients with COVID-19 in intensive care beds (ICU).
