Demarius Thomas left New England, having never played a game there.
Thomas, the wide-ranging receiver who was with the Patriots this offseason but did not play in Week One, is traded. According to numerous reports, the Jets are sending the 2021 sixth round to New England in a deal.
Jets head coach Adam Gass was the Broncos 'wide receivers coach until Thomas spent his first three NFL seasons in Denver and then spent another two years as the Broncos' offensive coordinator. Thomas played his best football when he played for Gase.
Now Gase will see how much Thomas has left. At 31, and last year after an Achilles injury, Thomas is no longer the player he once was. But he may still be able to contribute to a place where he already knows the crime.
