Michael Beatty was not in the biggest mood on Thursday afternoon.
The 64-year-old from Huntsville, Alabama, recently recovered from a two-week stay in a hospital where he said he fell into a coma because of complications of diabetes and sepsis. In addition, the republican social media's broadcasts were filled with posts he did not agree with, he said – further aggravating his emotional state.
One of these posts came from comedian Patton Oswalt, whose Critical Chirping for President Trump
"I just knew why I was so happy to die in Blade Trinity!" Beatty responded on Thursday afternoon, quoting the 2004 film in which Oswalth operated. In an interview on Thursday, Beatty said he did not think Oswalti would ever read his answers. But the comedian replied before taking anything further – pointing out his 4.5 million followers to Beatty's GoFundMe account created to cover his medical expenses.
Oswalt donated $ 2000 to the fund, which had previously accrued more than $ 600.
The fund has accumulated more than $ 21,000 from Thursday evening
"I would never have [imagined this] the basis of what I write to him," wrote Beatty. "If anything, I expected a disgusting answer or just be ignored, but it did not happen."
Beitty, who says he lives in his retirement check, said he had become ill after not having properly treated his diabetes. He develops sepsis and diabetic ketoacidosis, serious complications of diabetes that almost kill him in December. Bitty fell into an eight-day coma during his long stay in the hospital and is now recovering, he said, "but he needed help paying medical bills that had begun to flow.
Enter Oswalt, whose generosity helped make Beatty's sour notes into compassionate prose: You humbled me to the point where I could barely compose my words. You made me think and think how bad words from my mouth could lead to such a spill. Thank you for this, and I will pass this on to my cousin who needs help. Cascade.
