Photos showing two pairs of PlayStation 5 with Paul George’s latest Nike shoes appeared on Instagram in late March, and tonight the LA Clippers wing is wearing a white pair in play. Nike has announced that this PG 5 ‘PlayStation 5’ will go on sale later this month at a retail price of $ 120.

In the “select” global regions, you may be able to catch a pair from May 14, while they will be released in North America on May 27. There is no word on how much there will be on offer, although they will be sold through Nike.com, the SNKRS app and certain retail locations, so keep your eyes peeled if you’re interested, or just check for them at Nike Store in NBA 2K21, where players can unlock them from tomorrow.
According to Nike and Sony, the designers from the two companies worked closely together to make these shoes, even before the console was announced. As such, they relied on SIE Art Director Yujin Morisawa’s “artistic vision and creativity” for the PS5 to inspire PlayStation-shaped shoes on the upper and references to the PS5’s design on the upper and soles.
These shoes are unlikely to ever achieve the iconic status of Nike’s 2009/2009 Air Force 1 paint car, and they lack some of the radiant feel seen in earlier Paul George / PlayStation shoes. Still, at $ 120, they’re much cheaper to launch and will likely be cheaper on StockX than the actual PlayStation 5 console, which currently sells for $ 710 or more.
