Penn State Result vs. Michigan, Borrowing: No. 7 The Nitty Lions Wait for the Wolverines Rally for Key Big Ten Profit

Three of the last four meetings between No. 7 Penn State and No. 16 Michigan have witnessed the winning team come out on top with four or more touches. Saturday night's meeting in Happy Valley seemed to be headed in the same direction, but moving into the fourth quarter, it looks like we were headed for a potential nail finish as the Nittany Lions held only a seven-point lead after coming up with three points in the one moment in the first half – and an exciting final in Whiteout terms is exactly what we got.

Behind quarterback Sean Clifford threw for two touchdowns and ran for another, Pen State jumped out to a 21

-0 lead in the second quarter. Michigan checked off the dead, but the Wolverines signed on a 12-yard pass to Zach Charbonnet, who rushed in just before half to cut it to 21-7. The third quarter – which included a 100-yard kick return to open the half by K.J. Hamler called for a hold – he saw very little action until Michigan showed a little more effort to rise from the dead in the form of a 12-yard Bourbonnet score to give us a 21-14 lead. However, werewolves will never be able to get close to that. While K.J. Hamler's return did not hold up, there was no catching catch on his 53-yard landing in the fourth quarter outside the board. Michigan would answer again, but it could never complete its return. The werewolves were faced with a fourth goal in the final minutes. Shea Patterson escaped the pressure and found receiver Ronnie Bell in the end zone, but Bell failed to score. A few games later and first, Pen State took his knees to ice the game.

The win improves Pen State by 7-0 for the season and keeps them up to date with the Ohio State for the Big Ten East. Michigan drops to 5-2 this season and as many will tell you in the coming days, the Wolverines drop to 1-10 against top 10 teams under Jim Harbaugh.
