Lancaster County Pharmacy Provides COVID-19 Vaccine for Dentists, Physiotherapists

A small, independent pharmacy in Lancaster County has received hundreds of vaccine doses of COVID-19 for dentists and physiotherapists. Pharmacist Melissa Koehler opened Hillcrest Pharmacy & Compounding less than a month ago and managed to provide 400 doses. asked her to find health workers to vaccinate. “I just started calling local dentists within 1, 2, 3 miles of our location here. I called some physical therapy offices,” Koehler said. All doses were talked about for days. Physical therapist Amanda Dinkel was one of the people who signed up. She said her family contracted the coronavirus in May and could not wait for the vaccine. “As a physiotherapist, you’re probably closest to a patient. When you help someone switch, you’re right in their space,” she said. Another 300 doses are on the way. When vaccines arrive, appointments can be booked on the pharmacy’s website. “I’m so grateful we can do that,” Koehler said.
