The Philadelphia 76ers – including Josh Harris and David Blitzer – will meet with Doc Rivers in Philadelphia on Wednesday night as head coach of the franchise, ESPN sources said.
Rivers spoke earlier Wednesday with general manager Elton Brand. Other top candidates – including Mike D’Antoni and Tai Lue – also met with the brand and ownership.
Rivers is the last candidate in the process. A decision is expected this week.
Rivers and the Los Angeles Clippers split on Monday after his seventh season as head coach ended with their surprising relegation from the Denver Nuggets NBA playoffs in the Western Conference semifinals. Sources claim that Rivers has two years left under the contract.
