A second wave of Covid-1

9 is ravaging India, killing thousands every day and setting world records for daily infections.

Medical facilities began to run out of oxygen, ventilators and beds in intensive care units. The workers are tense.

Countries around the world are stepping up to offer help as corpses pile up in morgues and crematoria. Some authorities are forced to conduct mass cremations at makeshift sites.

“After successfully dealing with the first wave, the nation’s morale was high, he was confident,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in his monthly radio program. “But this storm shook the nation.”
