Police in Los Angeles detained, released a driver after the vehicle entered protesters; at least 1 wounded: report

At least one person was taken to hospital Thursday night after it was alleged that multiple vehicles passed through a crowd of Breona Taylor protesters in Los Angeles, according to reports.

Videos posted on social media show a large group of people walking along Hollywood’s Sunset Boulevard around 9 p.m., in protest of a recent Kentucky grand jury ruling on Taylor’s death in March.

Scandals of “F — these racist a– police!” Turned into screams when a blue pickup truck – driving against the stream of protesters – allegedly hit at least one person holding the sign who fell back on the street.

A separate video has appeared showing people gathering in the vehicle before the accident.

After the protester was hit, the crowd started hitting the vehicle, which continued forward until the police caught up, KCBS-TV from Los Angeles reported. The unidentified male driver was initially detained by police before being allowed to leave.

Later, around 9:30 p.m., a white Toyota Prius approached the same protesters at a busy intersection, forcing them to attack the vehicle, according to the station. It was not clear if anyone was injured in the second incident.

The Prius accelerated before being blocked by a black truck and a green convertible down Sunset Boulevard. Demonstrators hit the car with motorcycles and skateboards before it made a backup, hit the convertible and drove off.

At least 200 people had gathered at the entrance to the Hollywood Cemetery forever during a second night of protests in the city. Earlier, vehicles could be heard driving in support of the protest, according to FOX 11.
