Police launches tear gas in crowds protesters in the streets of Hong Kong on Wednesday against a background of growing anger over the government's proposal to change the law on extradition.

The controversial amendment to the law on extradition, which will allow individuals to be sent to China for trial, was presented to the Hong Kong Legislative Council on Wednesday. The bill will be voted on June 20th.
