The search for an ambulance in Paderno in Albufeira municipality left four seriously injured on Monday.
A second source from the Faro County Operations Center (CDOS), cited by Jornal de Notícias, the ambulance belonged to a private company. The check was carried out at 9 o'clock in the morning at the Padern access point on the Lisbon-Algarve (A2) and Sagresa Via del Infante (A22).
The causes of the crash are still unknown.
Assistance was provided to operational and fire crews from the Portuguese Red Cross, the National Institute for Emergency Medical Assistance (INEM) and GNR.
