PPHD announced hundreds of new COVID cases for Panhandle on Thursday afternoon



The Panhandle Public Health District provided the community with up-to-date information on the latest COVID-19 numbers following their update on Monday afternoon.

PPHD said that at the time of their update on Thursday, there were 444 new positive cases. By districts the new cases are as follows:

  • Box Butte- 53
  • Cheyenne- 33
  • Dawes- 31
  • Deuel – 2
  • Garden – 1
  • Grant – 2
  • Kimball – 13
  • Moril- 34
  • Scotts Bluff – 257
  • Sheridan – 12
  • Sioux – 2
  • Under investigation 1

Scotts County Bluff Health Director Flight Schnell also said there were 1

1 COVID-related deaths confirmed at Panhandle, but they are still awaiting formal investigation into several other cases. By Monday afternoon, there were 2,352 active cases in Panhandle, 85 active hospitalizations and 2,688 recoveries. A total of 24,667 tests were performed, 5,082 positive cases and 42 deaths related to COVID were confirmed.
