President Biden is preparing to sign an executive order that will review the ability of the United States to get hold of certain things that are currently in trouble. Among the list are semiconductors, one of the main reasons for the current shortage of PS5 (and graphics card).
Like CNBC reported earlier this month, the chip shortage – caused by pandemic disruptions in global supply chains – is wreaking havoc around the world, from carmakers to hardware companies like AMD and Qualcomm, and it’s spilling over to places like Sony and Nvidia because you can’t build PlayStation and GeForce cards without semiconductors.
AP report the executive order says the review focuses on “the instability of vital supply chains” and will investigate whether, if the global situation makes it difficult for the United States to import the necessary components, the country should produce these things itself.
It should be noted that this is an order to start a review, do not apply anything that is recommended. For all we know, the president can get this review, say that building more things in America is a good idea, then do nothing about it. Somehow how he promised $ 2,000 checks and he didn’t do that either.
